Tava therapists offer multiple types of therapy sessions, which includes individual, couple, and family therapy. You can select the session type when you schedule a session.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is a 1:1 session between you and your therapist, and is our most commonly scheduled session type. Therapists can help you with a wide range of challenges, including treating diagnosable mental health disorders, overcoming a specific life challenge, healing past trauma, or simply better understanding and loving yourself.
Individual therapy is currently the only session type covered by health insurance. You can schedule other session types by paying out of pocket or through an employer benefit.
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy sessions include your therapist, you, and your significant other(s)/partner(s)/spouse. Therapists offering couples therapy have special training for how to help partners improve communication, resolve conflict, and learn skills to strengthen the relationship. Even the strongest relationships will go through turbulence and can benefit from occasional couples therapy.
All partners will need to join the session from the same location/device.
Family Therapy
Family therapy is between your therapist, you, and one or more family members. Therapists offering family therapy have special training and can help with resolving conflict and misunderstandings, overcoming shared trauma, and learning and practicing skills to build healthier and stronger relationships.
This can also be a great option for minors under age 13 to access therapy, even for individual challenges, via family therapy sessions with you in attendance.
All family members will need to join the session from the same location/device.
If your provider doesn't offer a type of therapy that you'd like to schedule, reach out to us via the chat bubble in the bottom right of your screen to get an additional provider added to your care team.
