Add your insurance details when signing up for Tava and we will automatically match you with in-network providers. If you’re seeing therapists who are out-of-network, it usually means your insurance isn’t fully added or the coverage filter isn’t applied.
Follow the steps below to ensure you’re only viewing therapists who are in-network with your insurance.
Add (or confirm) your insurance information
Follow these steps to add your insurance when signing up for the first time:
- If you are the primary policy holder, select "Self" and enter in your name, insurance provider and member ID.
- If you are a dependent, select "Someone else" and enter in the primary policy holder's name and date of birth, the insurance provider, your relationship to the primary policy holder, and your member ID.
- We'll run a quick check to make sure your insurance coverage is valid. Usually this takes less than 30 seconds, but if it is taking longer than usual, you may continue with sign-up and we will reach out over email once verified.
You can also add or update your insurance on your profile after signing up for the first time.
- Login to your account at care.tavahealth.com
- Go to Billing Info from the menu in the top right corner
- Select Add Insurance, or click on your existing insurance card to update.
- Enter your insurance details carefully:
- First and last name
- Insurance company
- Member ID
- Save your changes.
Apply the “In-network” coverage filter
After completing the provider match questionnaire, you'll be matched with providers who accept your insurance and meet your preferences.
Find the Coverage filter. Ensure the box is checked for your plan.
Note: If you select "Clear all," all filters will be removed, including the filter for in-network providers.
What to do if you can’t find any in-network therapists
If applying the in-network filter returns no results, try:
- Expanding availability preferences
- Changing specialty or demographic filters
- Confirming your insurance info is accurate
