Tava Health now accepts Cigna Employee Assistance Program (EAP) authorization codes for covered sessions. Whether you’re new to Tava or an existing client, this guide walks you through how to apply your Cigna EAP coverage and what to expect next.
New to Tava? Start Here
If you’ve never used Tava Health before and have a Cigna EAP authorization code, follow these steps to get started:
- Go to care.tavahealth.com and create your account.
- During signup, enter your insurance details:
- Select Cigna as your insurance provider.
- Indicate “Yes” when asked if you have a prior authorization code.
- Enter your authorization code, number of covered sessions, and optionally upload your authorization document.
- Submit your information. Our team will verify your coverage and notify you if we are unable to verify your coverage.
- You may begin scheduling sessions while we verify your code. If we run into any issues, we’ll reach out to help.
Already Have a Tava Account?
If you’ve previously signed up and now want to add your Cigna EAP authorization, follow these steps:
- Log in at care.tavahealth.com.
- Navigate to the Billing section and click “Add here.”
- Enter your authorization code and number of covered sessions.
- Upload your authentication letter or documentation.
- Submit your details. You'll see a new card labeled "EAP" in your Coverage and billing section.
What Happens After Submission?
- Our team will reach out to Cigna to verify your authorization, including start date, expiration, and remaining sessions.
- You’ll see a “Pending Verification” status until confirmation is received.
- You may schedule a session before verification is complete.
- Once verified, your sessions will be automatically billed to your EAP benefits (up to the authorized number).
Important Notes
- You must have active Cigna insurance for EAP coverage to apply.
- Couples and family therapy are not eligible under Cigna EAP benefits.
- Any issues with verification will be communicated directly by our support team.
