If you have previously paid out of pocket for therapy sessions with Tava Health, it may be possible to submit those sessions to your insurance for reimbursement, provided they meet certain eligibility criteria.
Eligibility for Rebilling Past Sessions to Insurance
Tava Health can bill past therapy sessions to your insurance under the following conditions:
- Timely Filing Rules: The sessions must fall within your insurance plan’s timely filing window. Each insurance provider has a specific time limit for submitting claims, which can vary. Claims submitted outside this window cannot be rebilled to insurance.
- Valid Insurance Information: Your insurance details must be up-to-date and correctly entered into your Tava Health account. Any errors or omissions in information could prevent successful claim submission.
Sessions that are not eligible due to untimely filing or other restrictions will remain categorized as out-of-pocket payments, and no insurance claim can be made for those sessions.
Refunds for Out-of-Pocket Payments
For therapy sessions that are successfully billed and reimbursed through insurance, Tava Health will initiate a refund for the corresponding amounts you had previously paid out of pocket. Here’s what to expect:
- Automatic Refund Processing: Once the insurance payment is confirmed, refunds will be automatically processed by Tava Health for the eligible sessions.
- Bank Processing Times: The refunded amount will be transferred back to your designated bank account. While Tava Health processes the refund promptly, the actual time for funds to appear in your account depends on your financial institution.
